Competitiveness is at the heart of Europe's strategic agenda. But achieving it requires more than technology—it demands understanding of human behaviour, societal change, and governance. That's where SHAPE disciplines come in.
Event details of SHAPE - The Driver of European Competitiveness?!
Date
16 April 2026
Time
10:00 -16:00

This workshop, hosted at the Humanities Venture Lab in Amsterdam, cuts to a practical question: How do you get the resources you need to make SHAPE valorisation happen?  Through a number of short talks in the morning and a hands-on working session in the afternoon, participants will leave with:

  1. Evidence frameworks demonstrating SHAPE's contribution to competitiveness
  2. A draft investment case you can use with your VC/Rector/funder
  3. Connections to impact investors backing SHAPE initiatives
  4. Practical measurement tools to build into programmes from day one

The workshop is meant for KE professionals, TTO teams, research managers, and university leaders who want to move SHAPE from margin to mainstream. It is organised by SHAPE Alliance NL, SHAPE Impact Kollektiv, and ASTP: Europe’s Knowledge Transfer Association

The workshop is only open to invited participants. However, if you are interested in the programme or want to know more about SHAPE, please feel free to contact Klaas Hernamdt, programme director of the Humanities Venture Lab, by emailing humanitiesventurelab@uva.nl.
